You can fly to the following cities or reach them by train within Europe:

From Zurich Airport: Train via Zurich HB to Locarno.

Milan (ITA)

Malpensa Airport:

• • Train via Milan Central or Milan Nord to Locarno.
  • Shuttle bus  (reservation obligatory) to Castione-Arbedo and then train to Locarno.

Airport Linate

• • Bus to Milan Central and then train to Locarno.

Airport Bergamo (Orio al Serio)

• Shuttle bus to Milan Central and then train to Locarno.

On arrival in Locarno you can reach Monte Verità as follows:

Public bus

Take bus no. 1 from Locarno railway station to the bus stop «Ascona Centro» (duration: 15 – 20 minutes). Then take the bus no. 5 «Buxi» at the bus stop Autosilo Ascona line 1 (duration: 8 minutes) to Monte Verità. The bus stop is at the other side of the Coop.

Please refer to the corresponding timetables of the line 1 and line 5.

Please note that the timetables of bus line no. 1 are different for Monday – Saturday (Lunedì – Sabato e feriali) and for Sundays and holidays (Domenica e festivi).

The bus line no. 5 runs irregularly and cash payment is mandatory. From the bus stop «Ascona Autosilo» you can also reach Monte Verità in 25 – 30 minutes on foot (follow the «Strada Collina») or by taxi located next to the Autosilo Ascona.

Shuttle

The free shuttle bus stops at Locarno train station next to the end of platform 4 (close to where public busses are leaving). Look for the white bus with the Monte Verità logo. Each shuttle has 8 seats, which will be filled on a «first come first serve» basis. The ride will take approximately 20 minutes one way.

The shuttle will run as follows:

Sunday, September 24, 2023: 16:00, 16:40, 17:20, 18:00, 18:40 and 19:20 from Locarno train station to Monte Verità

Wednesday, September 27, 2023: 8:00, 8:40, 9:20, 10:00, 10:40 and 11:20 from Monte Verità to Locarno train station

Taxi

Various taxis are available at Locarno railway station. The company «EcoTaxsi» usually has a slightly lower price, reservation required: +41 91 792 21 01 or 0800 321 321 (free call from Swiss numbers) or via Skype. The ride takes about 15 minutes and costs about CHF 40.00.
